Three cases of normal pressure hydrocephalus are reported. Cysticercosis of the central nervous system was found to be the main etiopathogenic factor responsible by the syndrome in these cases. Clinical and diagnostic aspects of the cases, and the good results of ventriculo-jugular derivation concerning the clinical aspects of the syndrome are pointed out. This is the first report in the literature concerning to normal pressure hydrocephalus resulting from cysticercosis of the central nervous system.
