The number of adults of Cerotoma arcuata tingomariana (Bechyné) in soybean (Glycine max) fields in Eldorado do Sul, RS, was recorded through the seasons 1989/90 and 1990/91. The samples were taken weekly using a sweep net and a ground cloth. The number of sampled insects was higher during soybean reproductive stage. Both sampling methods were equally efficient to sample C. arcuata tingomariana adults.
