SUMMARY
Four levels of nitrogen, 0, 30, 60 and 90 kg to the hectare, were compared regarding five different fertilizers, as castor oil bean meal, hoof and horn meal, ammonium sulphate, calcium cyanamide and urea, when a single rate of PK was applied at planting time.
Two trials were conducted, one in "massape-salmourao" soil and the other in "terra-roxa-misturada" type.
It has been found that when fertilizers are applied in furrows at planting time, the effects of castor oil meal and hoof and horn meal were the same. They were better, however, than the effect of urea, ammonium sulphate and calcium cyanamide.
