Open-access The effect of count and irregularity variations on cotton yarn strength

The skein strength variations of cotton yarns are related to count and irregularity variations. The present study is based on a multiple regression analysis where the yarn strength is studied as a function of two independent variables: irregularity (U%) and yarn count. Equations were developed to forecast yarn strength. It was found that the count variations are more important than irregularity variations in explaining yarn strength variations.
