ABSTRACT
This study intends to follow certain political and cultural flows that cross and form Kanavillil Rajagopalan's scientific production on the philosopher John Austin with regard to the "theory" of speech acts, so that we can consider that production from the point of view of a decolonizing theoretical movement within pragmatics as part of the so-called "epistemologies of the south."
Key-words: Theory of Speech Act; Rajagopalan; Austin; decolonization
