Marcos Aurélio Felipe é professor associado IV do Centro de Educação-CE, da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte-UFRN. Tem graduação em história, mestrado e doutorado em educação pela UFRN. Integra o corpo docente do Departamento de Práticas Educacionais e Currículo (DPEC), atuando nos componentes da área das tecnologias e das linguagens em contextos educacionais, nas modalidades presenciais e a distância. Coordenou o Setor de Produção de Materiais Didáticos (Impresso, Designer, Digital, Vídeo) da Secretaria de Educação a Distância (SEDIS) da UFRN. Tem publicações em periódicos nacionais e internacionais, interesse nas áreas de estudos e pesquisas referentes aos cinemas pós-coloniais, a história e a linguagem do documentário e das cinematografias contemporâneas. Fez pós-doutorado no Programa de Pós-Gradua ção em Comunicação (PPGCOM/UFPE), com projeto sobre a experiência da ONG Vídeo nas Aldeias (VNA), das filmografias de Vincent Carelli e dos coletivos de cineastas indígenas. Investiga, no marco e como desdobramento dessa pesquisa, as interfaces entre as dimensões audiovisuais e formativas, ancorando-se na perspectiva fílmica (documentária, etnográfica e indígena), na crítica pós-colonial — de tendência decolonial, das epistemologias e cosmovisões originárias. Atualmente, desenvolve pesquisa sobre cinematografias originárias de Abya Yala, com foco nas perspectivas e poéticas fílmicas dos realizadores de territórios localizados nas fronteiras da América Latina.
