Daniel Meirinho é professor adjunto no Departamento de Comunicação Social da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) e professor permanente no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos da Mídia (PPgEM/UFRN). É bolsista produtividade em pesquisa no Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) e líder do Grupo de Pesquisa VISU - Laboratório de Práticas e Poéticas Visuais. É doutor em ciências da comunicação pela Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH/UNL), com intercâmbio acadêmico na Goldsmiths College (University of London) e na Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Realizou pós-doutorado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (PPGCOM-UERJ). Desenvolve pesquisas na área das políticas da imagem com enfoque em abordagens artísticas e contemporâneas, sobretudo ligadas aos estudos sobre raça, representação, arte afro-brasileira contemporânea, fotografia e performance.
