Abstract
This paper shows excerpts from the final episode of the ninth season of the American reality show RuPaul's Drag Race. With the intention of reflecting on the interactional processes and tensions that are established with the mediatic logic of the program's operation, marks of communication operations and intended effects in the performances of the competitors in relation to the other participants of this episode of interaction are examined. Verón's (2003) analysis of the last Brazilian presidential debate in 2002 is adopted as a methodological and interpretative guideline for exploring this material.
