Sílvia Pinto é doutora em Ciências da Comunicação, na Especialidade de Semiótica Social, pela Universidade do Minho – Portugal, com experiência de ensino universitário em Arte & Comunicação. É autora de Cavernas da contemporaneidade (Porto, 2014), Regimes escópicos (Lisboa, 2014), A luz para além do visível, em colaboração com Sara Anjos (Braga, 2016), Lógicas de vinculação na arte, em colaboração com Moisés Martins (Braga, 2017), A luz e a sombra como extensões do homem, em colaboração com M. Martins & M. Oliveira (Braga, 2017), e Arte-luz (Braga, no prelo). Integra o Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Sociedade da UMinho.
