Abstract
The robust work of discursive analysis demonstrated by Vinicius Prates in the book Um mapa da ideologia no antropoceno is presented in this review, with an emphasis on the approach of the Essex School followed by the author, who categorizes and details three discursive currents of environmentalism: the deep ecology, the reformist ecology and the radical ecology. Prates goes back to great narratives prior to the environmental crisis in order to show the roots of these currents; and also analyses their ways of acting and speaking out in contemporaneity — showing that they make up a discursive battle that is still unsolved.
