Interdisciplinary training at the S. Paulo University School of Public Health: a preparation for multiprofessional teamworkThe present paper gives a brief description of the experience undergone at the São Paulo University School of Public Health in 1975 regarding interdisciplinary teamwork among its pupils. The committee in charge of the practical work changed the methodology used in the school this year. The students were conducted in the general direction of a health sectorial diagnosis programme collecting data belonging to one of the São Paulo State's Administrative Regions, The Paraiba Valley (14,000 square kilometers and a population of 1,050,000 inhabitants). Parts of the CENDES/PAHO technique and the Programme Packaging technique were used as tools by the students. This paper points out difficulties that turned up as well as some of the good results. Conclusions indicate that the experiment ought to go on.
