André Brasil é professor do Departamento de Comunicação e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da UFMG, doutor pela UFRJ, com pós-doutorado na New York University. Desenvolve pesquisas sobre e cinema e cinema documentário, com foco na produção de filmes por diretores e coletivos indígenas. Publicou recentemente "Ver por meio do invisível: o cinema como tradução xamânica" (2016).
