Abstract
The article analyzes the texts produced by Guerreiro Ramos between 1955 and 1958; period in which he turns his efforts to the study of the Brazilian political thought. It was a second stage of the author’s research project, focused on the elaboration of a post-colonial social science applied to Brazil. This project had started at IBESP, where he had elaborated critical studies on Brazilian social thought. Once he joined the ISEB, he redirected his research to the history of Brazilian political thought, in order to complete his theory of Brazilian society with an ideology of national development. The adoption of a historical-systematic method to analyze the texts allowed us to apprehend the elements of continuity between the two phases of the research. This diachronic perspective of analysis contemplates the systematic dimension of the author’s work, what is not perceptible in analyzes focused solely on the logical reconstruction of his theory.
