POSCOLONIALISM AND DECOLONIALITY: ETHNICITY, SOCIAL REPRODUCTION, GENDER AND SEXUALITY - AFRICAN VOICES - NOTES FROM AN ACADEMIC COURSEAbstract
This article takes off from the experience of a post-graduation course (the Course), guided by a critical perspective to the ‘coloniality of knowledge’ and underlining the importance of space for non-Eurocentric voices in universities and interlace of knowledge, such as academically legitimized and those who embody community experiencs and cultural heritages of original and enslaved peoples. Considering authors, especially feminists, Latin Americans and Africans, about postcolonialism and decoloniality, the Course analyzes novels by African authors and draws it as a critical experience to the coloniality of knowledge; denied cultural identities are rescued and maternity research beyond the private as a construct of social reproduction is encouraged. It is also demonstrated the potentiality of the interlace between sociology and literature.
