Many ways of not being: gay/lesbian rights and the recognition of family contexts

Based on interviews conducted in 2008 and 2009, this article describes and interprets how the beliefs and opinions of gay men and lesbian women with children or with the desire to have them, with regard to the right to marriage and joint adoption, as promoted by LGBT activism.
