SUMMARY

A survey was made of seed composition of nine soybean cultivars: IAC-1, IAC-2, IAC-3, IAC-5, Paraná, Santa Rosa, Davis, Viçosa and UFV-1 which were planted extensively at the Experimental Station in Campinas during 1975/76. At harvesting time four seed samples of each cultivar were taken and the seeds after grinding in a Willie machine were analized for macro and micro nutrients as well as cobalt, aluminum and sodium. There was a variation for each nutrient among cultivars. On an average, a 1000 kg of soybean seeds extracted from the soil the following quantities of elements: N: 65 kg; P: 7.2 kg; K: 17.3 kg; Ca: 2.5 kg; Mg: 2.3 kg; S: 3.1 kg; B: 18.3 g; Cl: 174 g; Cu: 18.7 g; Fe: 114 g; Mn: 34 g; Mo: 56 g; Co: 0.26 g; Na: 135 g; and Al: 27 g.
