SUMMARY

An experiment on cropping time of bitter orange trees (Citrus aurantium L., subsp. amara L.) aiming at the distillation of their leaves for the production of petitgrain oil was carried out during three consecutive years under a randomized-blocks experimental design with three replications and six treatments. It was found that, under the conditions of the experiment, the leaves collected at the beginning of January, rainy season, presented a higher petitgrain oil and linalyl acetate content than at the other months.
